Privacy Policy
This policy explains how SchoolUniverse handles personal information on schooluniverse.in, in the SchoolUniverse product, and in the SchoolUniverse mobile application. SchoolUniverse operates from Upper Ashpeer, Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir 193201.
Who this covers
We collect information from school staff who create or use an account, from people who write to us, and from people who pay for a subscription. Schools also store student, parent, and staff records in the product. The school decides what to store and is responsible for having a proper basis to do so. We process those records to provide the service.
Information we collect
Account information. Name, school name, email address, phone number, and login details needed to open and run an account.
Payment information. Billing name, amount, and a transaction reference. Card, UPI, and net-banking details are collected by our payment gateway, not stored by us as full payment credentials.
School records. Information a school enters, such as student records, attendance, grades, and messages.
Usage data. How the website and app are used, including feature use, session length, and errors, so we can keep the service working.
Camera and location, in the app. The app may ask for camera access for document scanning or photo uploads, and for location access for check-in or other location features. That access is used inside the app. You can turn these permissions off in the device settings.
How we use it
We use this information to provide the software, take and confirm payments, reply to enquiries, secure accounts, and understand which parts of the product need work. We do not sell personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information with the payment gateway that processes a subscription payment, and with providers who host the service or send email, only as needed to run SchoolUniverse. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Security
Data sent between the app or website and our servers is protected with industry-standard encryption. Access to personal information is limited to people who need it to operate the service.
Children
The product is used by schools, which may store information about students. The account used to administer SchoolUniverse is for adults. The app is not directed at children under 13 creating their own accounts, and we do not knowingly collect account information from a child under 13.
Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as the school is a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards for support, disputes, and legal duties. A school may ask us to delete records it stored, subject to those duties.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and, for significant changes to the app, notify users in the app or through the Play Store listing.
